Producing complex biologic medicines consistently and efficiently requires years of operational knowledge, and Novo remains one of the world’s largest manufacturers of insulin and GLP-1 therapies.

The biggest risk for Lilly (NYSE:LLY) is that manufacturing capacity eventually becomes abundant rather than scarce.
