Bill Ackman Reveals New Activist Stakes in Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac

Bill Ackman‘s hedge fund Pershing Square, in a new filing with the SEC, disclosed a new stake in Federal National Mortgage Association (OTCBB:FNMA), which amasses 115.6 million shares. The stake is activist by nature and represents 9.98% of the company’s outstanding common stock.

In a second filing, Pershing revealed an almost identical stake in another public government-sponsored enterprise: Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corp (OTCBB:FMCC). The fund holds around 63.5 million shares of Freddie Mac, which represent 9.77% of the company’s outstanding stock.
