7 Richest Countries in Africa by 2015 GDP

Whenever people think about Africa, they do not normally think about the richest countries in Africa by 2015 GDP. Rather, what they think about are the poorest countries there that are in dire need of help from other countries all over the world. There are some countries  in Africa that are considered to be rich especially when compared to other neighboring countries, but the amount of money that they have can still be incomparable to the richest countries in the world by 2015  GDP.

There are some people who are not aware that Africa is actually one of the biggest continents in the world. It contains about 54 countries. Although most of these states are suffering from very poor treatments wherein they almost have no food and almost no clean drinking water, there are still some areas that are quite well off.

Africa is a continent that is rich in various minerals that other countries in different continents would just covet to have but the main problem with Africa is the corrupt government plus the way that people think makes them more compliant of their current way of living. Even though Namibia is included in this list as one of the richest countries in Africa, it will be important to note that the money that the country currently has is not felt by all the people who are living there. There are some rich people in Namibia but more than half of the citizens of the country are living in poverty. The main reason why the country is rich is because of its production of diamonds.

One of the things that make this country more prosperous than other African countries is the fact that it has oil. Its economy is also considered to be upper middle class with infrastructures that are much more modern than its other neighboring countries. The small population in Libya also adds to its appeal.

Even though the inequality rates in South Africa are high, this problem has not stopped this country from being one of the richest that can be found in this continent. It has the second largest economy in Africa overall although there are still a lot of people who are living in this country who are living in poverty.

The thing about Mauritius is that it is able to increase its wealth without much help from the government. Basically, free market economics rule the country and has made it rise steadily as compared to other African countries. Its economy has also made a lot of investors interested. Tourism is one of the things that makes the country benefit as a whole.

3. Gabon – $20,612

Gabon is known to be one of the largest oil producers in Africa. It is currently having some problems with its continuing production of oil as its sources are nearly depleted. The country is trying to adjust by changing its economy a bit but it seems that the country is unable to adapt so far. Hopefully, it will start to find something that will make this country flourish more in the long run.

The fact that this is number 2 in the list of richest countries in Africa by 2015 GDP means that this is a country in Africa wherein people are living more comfortably. It has low population and it also has a lot of oil reserves which means that its chances of becoming better in the future are possible. The main problem that this country has to fight however is the current inequality and its corrupt government.

One of the most notable things about Seychelles is the fact that the best beaches in Africa can be found in this area. This has made the production of hotels there booming with a lot of tourists visiting the country to check out what Africa has to offer. A lot of people who go there are not disappointed with what they find.
