IMDb Rating: 7.5

If you want to see the effect of the oil industry, this may well be the documentary for you. It follows the events revolving around $27 billion worth lawsuit made by 30,000 Ecuadorians against Chevron Corporation since the company’s oil drilling activities are directly polluting rainforests of Ecuador. The documentary shows both sides of the story and raises a question about the influence that the big corporations have on politics. Although the movie predicted that the case will take up to 10 years to resolve, Ecuadorian court made a $18 billion judgment against Chevron, reducing it later to $9.5 billion. The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York later ruled that the judgment unenforceable.
