With an accumulated merchandise earnings of $3 billion dollars, there is no stopping the surge in toy sales for this franchise. License-owner Hasbro attributes the majority of its 2014 profit increase to Transformers, posting $4.28 billion in revenue that year. Marketing efforts are now gearing up toward Transformers 5, which is expected to boost merchandise sales. The fifth movie in the Autobots universe is set to be released on 2017.
