10. Denver

Denver has always historically had a high gay population, lending credence to it being gay friendly and an excellent city for gay people to reside in.

9. Austin

Austin is a huge city and has something for everything, including gay people which is why it has such a high gay population. While I initially didn’t expect to see any cities from Texas in the list, both this entry and the next have proven me wrong comprehensively.

7. Dallas

Another Texan city with a high gay population and hence, their acceptance is Dallas, in Texas.

Albany is the capital of the state of New York and has a compact gay scene, including gay friendly hotels, restaurants and night life.

6. Seattle

There is little surprise in the fact that Seattle makes the list of most gay friendly cities in the US, primarily because it is said to be a safe and friendly city for anyone, with little discrimination based on sexuality, with the Capitol Hill famous for being the gay epicenter of the city, and has many gay friendly hotspots.

4. Providence

A diverse and thriving gay community is present in Providence, the capital of the state of Rhode Island and has pride parades, LGBT events, and a gay friendly night life to boot.

4. Milwaukee

Milwaukee has a very progressive attitude as well as a mixture of comfort and ease, making it an excellent destination for gay people to live in peace, without any fear of repercussions.

3. Portland

Portland has consistently topped or been near the top of many lists of the most gay friendly cities in the United States, and ours is no exception, especially with a high gay population that has little to fear in the way of discrimination and negative attitudes from people of a different and more closed mindset.

2. Albuquerque

While Albuquerque may be more famous internationally because of the fact that it was the home of the greatest TV show of all time in Breaking Bad, it is also home to a sizable gay population and has many gay friendly hotspots including nightclubs and bars and grills.

1. Richmond

Virginia is one of the more liberal states, and hence, it should come as little surprise that its capital, Richmond, tops the list of 10 most gay friendly cities in the US. In fact, it is the only city in the entire list to have a gay population percentage in double figures, which is no mean feat at all.
