In this article we take a look at the 10 most diverse cities in the US. For a more comprehensive look, you can take a look here.

10. San Francisco-Oakland-Berkeley, CA Metro Area

Like its predecessor, this MSA also has a population of 4.5 million people. though less than half are white, at just 47%. 27% of the population comprises of Asians while African Americans make up 7.5% of the total. You may be wondering why we don’t have more cities with higher African American populations. That is because in cities where African American populations are high also have high white populations, which means there is little space for the other races. A city with a combination of 5 races will always be more diverse than one where just two races dominate.

9. Oklahoma City, OK Metro Area

The capital of the state Oklahoma has 1.3 million residents, of which 10% are African Americans. The city is famous or perhaps infamous for the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995 by Timothy McVeigh in which 168 people died, and was considered to be the worst terrorist attack in the US until 2001, when Al Qaeda hijacked planes and drove them into the twin towers of the World Trade Center, resulting in nearly 3,000 fatalities.
