10 Best and Worst States for Illegal Aliens

Illegal immigrantsThere are more than 11 million illegal aliens residing in the United States today. More than a third of these immigrants live in California and Texas. There are more than a million illegal aliens residing in Florida and New York combined. But this doesn’t mean that these states welcome them. These four states are the most populous states in America, so it makes sense for them to have the most illegal aliens. One of the most robust ways of determining which states are the best (or worst) for illegal aliens is to calculate the ratio of illegal aliens to the total population of the state. This is an accurate method because illegal immigrants vote by their feet. Here are the top 10 states in which illegal aliens prefer to live:

10. Colorado: 4.25% are Illegal Aliens

9. Georgia:  4.39% are Illegal Aliens

8. Maryland: 4.44% are Illegal Aliens

7. Oregon: 4.49% are Illegal Aliens

6. New Mexico: 4.79% are Illegal Aliens

5. New Jersey: 5.47% are Illegal Aliens

4. Arizona:  5.77% are Illegal Aliens

3. Texas:  6.58% are Illegal Aliens

2. Nevada:  6.92% are Illegal Aliens

1. California:  6.94% are Illegal Aliens

We were surprised to learn Nevada has almost the same density of illegal aliens as does California. Neither would we have guessed there’s a concentration of illegal immigrants in Georgia.

Now for the other end, here are the states with the lowest density of illegal aliens:

10.  Pennsylvania:  1.29% are Illegal Aliens

9. South Dakota: 1.24% are Illegal Aliens

8. South Carolina: 1.23% are Illegal Aliens

7. Kentucky: 1.17% are Illegal Aliens

6. New Hampshire: 1.14% are Illegal Aliens

5. Ohio: 1.04% are Illegal Aliens

4. Montana: 1.03% are Illegal Aliens

3. Missouri: 1.01% are Illegal Aliens

2. Maine: 0.76% are Illegal Aliens

1. West Virginia: 0.55% are Illegal Aliens

West Virginia, one of the poorest states in the country, has the lowest rate of illegal aliens. Missouri and Ohio are in the top five in terms of ratio of illegal aliens but they’re also among the top 10 states where the population of illegal immigrants is exploding. In a few years, they’ll probably drop out of this list.
