Toogood Gold Corp. (TSXV:TGC) is narrowing its focus at the Table Mountain Gold-Silver Project in Nevada, where detailed mapping has identified two priority structural corridors stretching more than 10 kilometers combined. The Widowmaker and Pacifico trends now represent the company’s main targets as it works toward a maiden drill program.
The latest work gives the project a more defined geological framework. Detailed 1:5,000-scale mapping identified volcanic units, hydrothermal alteration, fault structures, quartz veining and brecciation across an alteration footprint measuring roughly 4 kilometers by 2 kilometers. The combination matters because these features can help trace the pathways through which mineralizing fluids moved through the system.
But the real question is what lies beneath the surface.
Widowmaker extends for more than 5 kilometers through the core of the epithermal system. A meter-scale quartz vein is intermittently exposed for more than 1 kilometer, while vein float has been traced along a trend exceeding 2 kilometers. Additional quartz veins, silicification and hydrothermal brecciation add to the structural picture.
Some of the more closely watched areas occur where the structures become increasingly complex. Widowmaker contains multiple bends, jogs and structural intersections that could represent important fluid pathways. One area also hosts a 3-to-4-metre-wide northwest-trending quartz vein intersecting the main corridor, giving the company a specific structural feature to investigate as it refines drill targets.

Pacifico Adds Another Layer to the Table Mountain Story
About 500 meters east of Widowmaker, the Pacifico corridor follows a broadly parallel arcuate structure and contains more than 5 kilometers of mapped fault trace. Multiple structurally controlled epithermal quartz veins, pervasive silicification and localized steam-heated alteration occur along the trend.
Historical gold and mercury anomalies add another piece to the geological puzzle, although the historical rock-sampling data comes with important limitations. Previous samples were selective or grab samples and were not necessarily representative of overall grades or true widths. Toogood is now independently testing the historical indications through its 2026 sampling program, with assays still pending.
The company has also completed field acquisition for UAV magnetics and ground gravity, while approximately 15 line-kilometers of controlled-source audio-frequency magnetotelluric (CSAMT) surveying are planned across the two priority corridors. The survey is designed to help identify subsurface resistivity contrasts that may reveal structures, silicification, alteration and potential hydrothermal pathways beneath areas with limited surface exposure.
That work could prove important in deciding where the first holes ultimately go.
Toogood has begun the Notice of Intent process required for its planned maiden drill program, with the geological mapping, geophysics, LiDAR, soil and rock sampling, and pending assays expected to feed into the final target selection.
For now, Table Mountain remains an exploration-stage project. The extensive surface alteration and structural system provide targets to test, but they do not establish a mineral resource or confirm the presence, grade or continuity of economically significant gold-silver mineralization at depth.
That distinction leaves the project at an important point in its exploration cycle. The surface work has now narrowed a large geological system into two priority corridors, but drilling will ultimately determine whether the structures mapped at surface continue into mineralized zones below. The pending assays and geophysical results should help sharpen that picture before Toogood puts the drill bit into the ground.
Hedge Fund Sentiment Towards Gold Stocks
Hedge funds’ most popular gold investment approach is via SPDR Gold Shares (GLD), however, collectively hedge funds invested more in gold mining stocks. The most popular of these are Agnico Eagle Mines (AEM) and Alamos Gold (AGI). There were a total of 53 hedge funds with bullish AEM positions at the end of the second quarter. That figure was 46 at the end of the first quarter. Alamos Gold is the second most popular gold mining stock among hedge funds with 45 bullish hedge fund positions. Royal Gold, Inc. (RGLD) and IAMGOLD Corporation (IAG) are also favored by hedge funds with 44 and 43 bullish positions respectively.
From a macroeconomic perspective, the outlook for gold mining companies presents a mixed narrative. While escalating interest rates generally create headwinds by increasing capital costs and strengthening the opportunity cost of holding non-yielding assets, an inflationary economic environment concurrently enhances the intrinsic value of gold, traditionally serving as a tailwind for mining equities.
