President Trump and Nancy Pelosi Portfolio: Top 4 Picks

Several US politicians have proven time and again that they are good at stock trading. According to Unusual Whales’ 2025 Congress trading report, the Democratic ETF NANC gained 20.8% in 2025 and the Republican ETF GOP gained 18.8%, both ahead of the S&P 500’s 16.8%. The best individual portfolios did far better, led by Rep. Warren Davidson with an estimated 78.8% return.

President Donald Trump trades far more than any of them. A Bloomberg analysis, reported by Fortune, found that Trump or his money managers made nearly 28,700 trades from January 2025 through June 2026. All 535 members of Congress made about 22,200 trades in the same period. That works out to roughly 80 trades per market day, and Trump is the only president this century to disclose active trading of individual stocks. His annual disclosure showed more than 21,000 trades in 2025, worth between $600 million and $1.86 billion. The June disclosure added more than 1,000 trades worth $78.1 million to $263.1 million. His latest disclosure, released on Oct 8, lists 517 trades in August.

The White House says Trump does not make these trades. A Spokesperson told Bloomberg and Reuters that third-party financial institutions manage the portfolio with computer-based models that follow indexes such as the Schwab 1000. He said Trump and his family cannot direct or influence the trades. “All investment decisions are made entirely by independent managers,” Ingle said.

Nancy Pelosi’s family has been the most closely watched name in this debate. Fortune said she had one of the best-performing stock portfolios in Congress in 2023. In 2025, Common Cause counted 12 trades tied to her with a total volume of $26.91 million, the eighth most in Congress. Unusual Whales put her options activity that year at $2.6 million.

How We Picked the Stocks

We compared the trades in Donald Trump’s disclosures with the trades in Nancy Pelosi’s disclosures, using data from Quiver Quantitative. The trades in Pelosi’s filings were made by her spouse. We kept the stocks that both bought and where the latest disclosed trade for each was a buy.

Both disclosures list amounts as ranges, so every dollar figure below is a range. Trump’s portfolio also sold each of these stocks during July and August 2026, and we say so in each entry. Pelosi’s spouse bought Uber through call options only.

NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA)

According to his disclosures, Trump bought Nvidia again and again in July and August 2026. They bought $500,001 to $1 million of the stock on Jul 20 and again on Aug 17. They added a $250,001 to $500,000 purchase on Aug 3 and made smaller buys on Aug 10, Aug 24 and Aug 26. They also sold during that run, including $500,001 to $1 million on Jul 17 and again on Aug 21. The last disclosed Nvidia trade was a buy on Aug 26.

Pelosi’s spouse sold 20,000 Nvidia shares on Dec 24, 2025. Six days later, the spouse bought 20 call options on the stock. On Jan 16, 2026, the spouse exercised 50 call options bought on Jan 14, 2025, at a strike price of $80. That bought 5,000 Nvidia shares, worth $250,001 to $500,000. It was the last Nvidia trade in the filings.
