What Did Warren Buffett Say About Buying Apple Inc. (AAPL)’s Smartwatch?

Buffett talked in an exclusive interview to Fox Business’s Liz Claman on the eve of Buffett’s 50 years at the top of the Berkshire. Buffett talked about various stocks, politics, prostate Cancer and his career during a half-an-hour interview with Claman. He talked on Fox Business about if he is planning to buy an Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s Smartwatch in 2015 or not.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has just completed a very successful year and shattered many records during the course of the year. One major highlight was the fourth quarter, in which they sold nearly 75 million iPhones, which sums up to around 10 iPhones every second in that quarter, which is completely unbelievable in some aspects. But we cannot say that the company will be able to match the success of 2014 in 2015, since majority of the hopes revolve around the iWatch.

Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (NYSE:BRK) does not have a holding in Apple Inc. (AAPL) stock. But, Buffett feels that Tim Cook is a terrific manager for Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) and the company has done very well under him. Buffett go this very first iPad recently.

He said that he is not kind of a guy who likes new tech products. So he feels that it might take some time for him to switch over to high tech products. When questioned about if he will buy an Apple Watch in 2015, he said that Tim Cook wanted him to first replace his flip phone with an iPhone. So he feels that there are more steps for him to cover before buying an Apple Watch.

“Tim Cook sent me a Christmas card and he said his goal in 2015 was to have me get rid of that flip phone I have and then buy iPhone. So I have got a couple of stages to go through before I get to the iWatch. He is a terrific manager,” Buffett said.
