Walter Schenker’s MAZ Partners Is Betting On This Tiny Company

Walter Schenker‘s MAZ Partners has upped its position in Intrusion Inc. (OTCMKTS:INTZ). In a filing with the Securities and Exchange Comission, Schenker’s fund disclosed ownership of 1.25 million shares of the data stock, which is 10.3% of all outstanding stock. Previously, MAZ Partners owned 1 million shares of INTZ, 8.8% of outstanding stock.

Intrusion Inc, whose stock has ticked steadily upward in the past year, develops, markets and supports a range of security products. Intrusion’s specialties include entity identification, data mining, regulated information compliance, and data privacy protection.

The Richardson, Texas company produces TraceCop, Savant, Compliance Commander, and SecureNet, and customers include the United States federal government, foreign governments, local governments, banks, credit unions, other financial institutions, hospitals and other healthcare providers, as well as other customers.

The company broke into the enterprise market in 2000 with its first intrusion detection system (IDS). Two years later, Intrusion produced its first intrusion prevention system.

In 2003, the company began working on a new product, Compliance Commander Sentry, a content monitoring and filtering (CMF) solution for protecting confidential customer data from leaking onto public networks. Intrusion Inc. (OTCMKTS:INTZ) launched the product in 2004.

As the company’s website states, “Intrusion then launched TraceCop in 2005. TraceCop is a suite of Internet monitoring and tracking products that provides unprecedented capabilities for the identification of malicious and illegal activities based on both historical and current Internet usage data.”

The company’s most recent solution is Savant, a transparent network data capture and analysis solution that brings science into corporate decision making. The utility is designed to allow a company to assess infrastructure and performance issues, as well as identifying experts.

MAZ Partners isn’t the only entity that’s long Intrusion Inc. First Dallas Holdings Inc is long 864,213 shares of the stock, and thus owns 7.1% of all outstanding stock.

Intrusion Inc. (OTCMKTS:INTZ)’s stock price is up 230% in the past year.
