Some Facts about the Perfume Industry

(NYSE:EL), L’Oréal, PVH Corp. (NYSE:PVH), and Puig.  The key products in the perfume market are eau de parfum, eau de toilette, and eau de cologne. These are distinguished based on perfume oil concentration in their formulae. Eau de parfum contains the highest concentration of perfume oil (10-20%), followed by eau de toilette (7-10%). Eau de cologne is the lightest solution, with merely 4-6% of the concentrate.
