Tiger Global Management Reveals New Stake in Bitauto Hldg Ltd (ADR) (BITA); Raises Exposure To Autohome Inc (ADR) (ATHM)

In a new couple of filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Tiger Global Management LLC, managed by Chase Coleman and Feroz Dewan, revealed its passive stakes in Bitauto Hldg Ltd (ADR) (NYSE:BITA) and Autohome Inc (ADR) (NYSE:ATHM).

Tiger Global Management has reported a new a 14.9% passive stake in Bitauto Hldg Ltd (ADR) (NYSE:BITA). The hedge fund owns 6.57 million ordinary shares of the company, according to the filing. The stake amasses 14.9% of the class.

Bitauto Hldg Ltd (ADR) (NYSE:BITA) is a provider of Internet content and marketing services for China’s automotive industry. It has a market cap of about $3.7 billion. For the second quarter of 2014, the company reported an operating profit of $21.2 million, which is a 159.5% increase from the same quarter of 2013. The company’s revenue was $84.2 million in the second quarter, representing a 54.5% increase from the same period a year ago.

OZ Management, led by Daniel S. Och, disclosed owning 617,409 shares of Bitauto Hldg Ltd (ADR) (NYSE:BITA), while David E. Shaw’s D E Shaw reported holding 350,194 shares of the company.

In a separate filing, Tiger Global Management disclosed that it holds 6.74 million class A ordinary shares of Autohome Inc (ADR) (NYSE:ATHM). The stake is equal to 18.5% of the class. In its latest 13F, the fund revealed ownership of 290,873 shares of Autohome Inc (ADR) (NYSE:ATHM), which provides comprehensive, independent and interactive content to automobile consumers in China. The market cap of the company is $4.8 billion.

During the second quarter of 2014, Tiger Global Management focused more on services and technology stocks. The value of the fund’s equity portfolio totaled $7.9 billion. The fund’s largest stake was placed in Twenty-First Century Fox Inc (NASDAQ:FOXA), in which it reported ownership of 18.51 million shares, worth more than $650 million.
