Apryse, formerly PDFTron, has seen consistent growth. The company has reported an EBITDA of $100 million with an annual growth rate of more than 20%. According to Reuters, other private equity firms have started showing interest in the sale. As of now, Thoma Bravo is working on the sale with investment bankers at Lazard, Inc., taking the lead advisory role.
The role comes amid internal and external recalibrations. Specifically, the company recently experienced executive reshuffling, with JP Morgan announcing on May 23, 2025, that the longtime software dealmaker Peter Duda was leaving Lazard, Inc. to join it as a managing director supporting software.
While Lazard, Inc.’s performance remains solid with a 3.31% weekly gain and a 13.52% monthly gain, a decline of 8.62% was noted in the insider stock transactions during the last six months, indicating a fall in insider confidence despite a positive stock performance.
Additionally, on May 15, 2025, Goldman Sachs reaffirmed a Sell rating on Lazard while raising the price target from $35 to $40, suggesting cautious optimism on the company’s growth amid an active deal environment.
