Blackberry Battery Life: The ‘New’ Research In Motion BlackBerry – This Exec Loves It

Blackberry Battery Life: Although a lot of consumers and corporations are giving Research In Motion Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) BlackBerry a difficult time, this does not hold true across the board. In fact, there are some companies that have fallen in love with the company all over again.

A few weeks back, we brought you a story about Canadian Tire issuing thousands of Research In Motion BlackBerry devices to its corporate team. This was a big win for the company, as it had lost several corporate accounts, such as Home Depot, as of late.

Eugene Roman, chief technology offer at Toronto-based Canadian Tire, was recently interviewed by the good people at Computer World UK.

As you can imagine, Roman spent quite a bit of time comparing smartphones before making a final decision as to which option was best for the company.

While there is a lot to like when it comes to Research In Motion Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) smartphones, Roman talked about one detail in particular: battery life.

Here is what he had to say in the interview:

“With 10 to 12 hours of battery life, that’s double of every other device we’ve tried. It’s efficient on the network and still has good security. The battery life is the winner. I have a couple of iPhones, but I can’t live on them.”

Like many, Roman has come away impressed with the battery life of the BlackBerry models. This is an area in which other smartphone manufacturers struggle, including the company’s primary competition.

But Roman did not stop there. Instead, he really showed how much love he has for everything Research In Motion Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) has done for him, including his Bold:

“I told them you’d have to pry the Bold from my cold dead hands, since it has served me extremely well, but the Q10 does it one better.”

This is saying a lot coming from a guy with as much experience in the industry as Roman.

It will be interesting to see if Research In Motion Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) is able to keep this momentum up. While some companies continue to shun its new operating system and smartphones, others, such as Canadian Tire, see the value.

From the battery life to the QWERTY keyboard on the Q10, BlackBerry is doing things right and Canadian Tire CTO Eugene Roman has taken notice.
