United Parcel Service, Inc. (NYSE:UPS)‘s new undisclosed minority stake in Ally Commerce certainly has bright future prospects. The startup allows businesses to cash in on direct sales to consumers skipping the middle man and its clients include, among others, Electrolux and Bosch. According to the research and advisory firm Forrester, direct online sales to consumers will form nearly 34% of the brand manufacturer’s total revenue by 2016.

At the end of June, 52 funds from our database collectively held $2.15 billion worth of shares in United Parcel Service, Inc. (NYSE:UPS) representing about 2.5% of the company. This was a significant increase from 45 funds with aggregate holdings worth $2.09 billion a quarter earlier. Edgar Wachenheim‘s Greenhaven Associates trimmed its United Parcel Service, Inc. (NYSE:UPS) holding by 4% on the quarter to 4.81 million shares. On Greenhaven’s heels is Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Trust, managed by Michael Larson, which holds some 4.53 million shares of UPS valued at $438.55 million.
