Rockwell Collins insider trading: After having been invited to join the Iowa Business Council a few days ago, Kelly Robert Ortberg, CEO and President at Rockwell Collins, Inc. (NYSE:COL), acquired 4,717 company shares earlier this week. He paid $27.97 per share, reaching a total of $131,934. He now holds 42,957 shares directly, valued at $2.8 million, and another 4,264 shares through a savings plan.
Now trading at 15 times its earnings, at a 20% discount to the industry average, while yielding 1.82% of the current stock price in the form of dividends, an attractive entry point seems open. Moreover, industry leading margins and returns provide even more reasons to chip in.
Obrtberg’s purchase follows Jeffrey Ubben and ValueAct Capital’s big bet on the company‘s avionics division. The hedge fund now holds 13.1 million shares, or 9.7 percent of the total outstanding shares of the company.
