Barington Capital made three new acquisitions during this Q3 of 2018. The most important one was 300,000 shares of L Brands Inc (NYSE:LB), this stock has a value of $9.09 million. L Brands is a fashion retailer with brands that include Victoria’s Secret and Bath and Body Works.

The second important purchase was 25,000 shares of Rayonier Advanced Materials Inc (NYSE:RYAM) valued $461,000. Rayonier Advanced Materials is a manufacturer and supplier of cellulose-based products for the chemical industry.
Furthermore, the fund boosted its investment in three of its positions. It increased its stock by 16% in Avon Products Inc. (NYSE:AVP) acquiring 4,321,475 shares estimated in $9.51 million.

It also raised by 15% its holdings in Esterline Technologies Corp (NYSE:ESL) amassing 76,700 shares worth $6.98 million.
Additional changes include a cut down to its investment in four of its positions. For instance, it trimmed by 37% its holdings in Newell Brands Inc (NASDAQ:NWL) leaving it to 34,583 shares valued at $702,000. The fund’s holdings in Macy’s Inc (NYSE:M) were reduced by 3%  procuring a total of 54,497 shares assessed $1.89 million.

Through the third quarter of 2018, Barington Capital Group decided to sell out the total of its shares in 5 of its holdings, among them were Xerium Technologies Inc (NYSE:XRM) with 664,848 shares worth $8.80 million and Edgewell Personal Care Co (NYSE:EPC) with 30,000 shares appraised at $1.51 million.
