On Friday, May 30, Needham analyst N. Quinn Bolton reduced the price target for Marvell Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:MRVL) from $100 to $85 and reiterated a “Buy” rating. This decision reflects a more cautious view because of uncertainties around tariffs and a more conservative stance in the firm’s discounted cash flow (DCF) model.

The price target was lowered after Marvell Technology, Inc. reported Q1 results for its fiscal year 2026 that surpassed the midpoint of expectations and gave Q2 guidance that exceeded Wall Street’s forecast.
Needham’s analysis highlighted that Marvell Technology, Inc.’s serviceable available market is growing beyond endpoint devices to include edge infrastructure. The company’s management also discussed that the company is developing next-generation processors to expand further into the edge infrastructure market. This strategic move shows that Marvell Technology, Inc. is diversifying its market opportunities.
Despite these positive developments, Needham analysts noted that tariff uncertainties could impact the second half of fiscal year 2026. This led to a reduced price target and a more cautious outlook in Needham’s valuation model.
