iPads In The Workplace: More Employees Want an Apple iPad, iPhone

iPads In The Workplace: It was not long ago when BlackBerry was the dominant force in the workplace. Trends change and Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is now moving to the top.

Forrester’s 2013 Mobile Workforce Adoption Trends reviewed the technologies most coveted by 9,766 global information workers.

AppleInsider recently took a close look at some of the preliminary information released by the leading global research and advisory firm.

Here are some of the key points from the article:While you can access some basic information on the company’s official website here, you will need to pay quite a bit for access to the entire report.

“Forrester says “anytime, anywhere information workers” that use three or more devices now constitute 29 percent of the global workforce, up from 23 percent in 2011.”

“Forrester’s analysis found that 21 percent of respondents were using a tablet at least weekly for work. Forty-eight percent were using a smartphone at least weekly for work.”

A Leading Company Cheaper Than 90% Of Blue Chips... And It Recently Bounced 12%Of course, there is a big difference between using just any tablet for work and using an Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPad. Among those included in the survey, 58 percent use the iPad.

How does this number stack up? Well, this is “twice the number using Android tablets and more than five times the number using Windows tablets.”

While this is what is going on right now, the same article touches on some of the research that discusses what the future may hold for Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) in the enterprise space:

“Apple’s future in the enterprise sector looks brighter when it comes to the devices respondents want for their next work smartphones or tablets. While 16 percent of respondents currently use an iPhone, 33 percent said they wanted an iPhone for their next work smartphone, as big a percentage as Android and Windows Phone combined.”

“The tablet segment is also promising for Apple. Twenty-six percent of respondents want an iPad for their next work tablet, more than twice the percentage that want an Android-powered device.”
