Honda Motor Co Ltd (ADR) (HMC), General Motors Company (GM): Politically, Japanese Solar Is Better than Japanese Cars

This isn’t to say that the car makers did poorly. Toyota reported a net revenue increase of 18.7%, while Honda came in with an 18.4% increase in sales. While these are no doubt good numbers, the ongoing political squabbles between China and Japan threaten the long-term growth of the companies even as US auto manufacturers become more welcome in China. With Kyocera Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:KYO), the potential for growth stems from domestic energy strength, as the solar market continues to grow thanks to post-Fukushima incentives for non-nuclear energy. This growth could signal a new dominant industry for pro-Japan investors looking for an alternative to cars.

In the Land of the Rising Sun, the money could very well be in the sun for years to come.
