Genuine Parts (GPC): A Dividend King Worth Watching

Genuine Parts Company (NYSE:GPC) has increased its dividend for 70 consecutive years, placing it among the longest-running dividend growth records in the market. The company raised its annual dividend by 3.2% for 2026 to $4.25 per share, or $1.0625 quarterly.

The dividend is supported by Genuine Parts’ large automotive and industrial replacement-parts businesses, which tend to generate recurring demand because customers still need repairs and replacement parts during weaker economic periods. The company operates more than 10,800 locations across 17 countries.

There are also some reasons for caution. Genuine Parts generated $421 million of free cash flow in 2025, while paying $564 million in dividends. That means the dividend exceeded reported free cash flow during the year. The company expects free cash flow to improve to $550 million-$700 million in 2026, while adjusted EPS is expected at $7.50-$8.00.

Bull Case

70-year track record provides strong evidence of dividend commitment. Genuine Parts Company (NYSE:GPC)  has maintained and increased its dividend through multiple recessions, inflationary periods, and industry cycles. Reaching 70 consecutive years of increases suggests that protecting the dividend is deeply embedded in the company’s capital-allocation strategy.

The underlying business generates relatively defensive demand. Automotive repairs and industrial maintenance are not entirely discretionary. As vehicles age, replacement and maintenance activity can remain resilient even when consumers delay buying new cars. This gives Genuine Parts Company (NYSE:GPC)  a relatively dependable revenue base that can support shareholder distributions.

Cash generation is expected to improve. Management expects 2026 operating cash flow of $1.0 billion-$1.2 billion and free cash flow of $550 million-$700 million. If the company reaches the upper end of that range, free cash flow would provide a much better cushion for the $4.25-per-share annual dividend.

Dividend growth does not need to be aggressive to remain attractive. The 3.2% increase for 2026 is modest, but for income-focused investors, a steadily rising payment can be more valuable than a high initial payout that lacks durability. Genuine Parts Company (NYSE:GPC)’s history suggests management is willing to prioritize consistency.

The planned business separation could eventually strengthen dividend sustainability. Genuine Parts plans to separate its Automotive and Industrial businesses into two independent companies. A more focused structure could allow each business to allocate capital more efficiently and potentially improve operating performance and cash generation over time.

Bear Case

The biggest concern is the current gap between dividends and free cash flow. Genuine Parts Company (NYSE:GPC)  paid $564 million in dividends in 2025 but generated only $421 million in free cash flow. While one year does not determine the long-term sustainability of a dividend, repeatedly funding distributions beyond internally generated cash would put pressure on the balance sheet.

Profitability has come under pressure. 2025 adjusted EPS fell to $7.37 from $8.16 a year earlier. The company also recently lowered its 2026 profit outlook amid higher costs and a tougher consumer environment. That creates less room for meaningful dividend growth if earnings remain under pressure.

The latest dividend increase is relatively small. A 3.2% increase keeps the streak alive but is below the company’s longer-term growth potential. If earnings and cash flow remain weak, future increases could become increasingly symbolic rather than meaningful for investors seeking income growth.

The business separation introduces uncertainty. Splitting the Automotive and Industrial operations could unlock value, but it also creates execution and capital-allocation risks. Investors will need to determine how the dividend policies and balance sheets of the two future companies will look after the separation.

Conclusion

Genuine Parts Company (NYSE:GPC)’s dividend remains more durable than its recent financial performance might suggest, largely because of its exceptional 70-year record, recurring replacement-parts demand, and expected improvement in 2026 cash generation.

The main weakness is that 2025 free cash flow did not fully cover the dividend, while earnings have also weakened. That makes the current payout worth monitoring rather than simply assuming the historical streak guarantees future growth.

Overall, the dividend case remains more bullish than bearish for long-term income investors. The 70-year streak is supported by a relatively defensive business, and management continues to raise the payout. The key test will be whether Genuine Parts can turn its expected improvement in operating cash flow and free cash flow into sustained coverage of the dividend. If it can, the company’s long dividend history could remain one of its strongest investment attributes.

The $250 Trillion AI Hype is Real. A few years from now, you’ll probably wish you’d bought this stock.

When Jeff Bezos said that one breakthrough technology would shape Amazon’s destiny, even Wall Street’s biggest analysts were caught off guard.

Fast forward a year and Amazon’s new CEO Andy Jassy described generative AI as a “once-in-a-lifetime” technology that is already being used across Amazon to reinvent customer experiences.

At the 8th Future Investment Initiative conference, Elon Musk predicted that by 2040 there would be at least 10 billion humanoid robots, with each priced between $20,000 and $25,000.

Do the math. According to Musk, this technology could be worth $250 trillion by 2040.

Put another way, that’s roughly equal to:

  • 175 Teslas
  • 107 Amazons
  • 140 Metas
  • 84 Googles
  • 65 Microsofts
  • And 55 Nvidias

And here’s the wild part — this $250 trillion wave isn’t tied to one company, but to an entire ecosystem of AI innovators set to reshape the global economy.

It’s a leap so massive, it could reshape how businesses, governments, and consumers operate worldwide.

Even if that $250 trillion figure sounds ambitious, major firms like PwC and McKinsey still see AI unlocking multi-trillion-dollar potential.

How could anything be worth that much?

The answer lies in a breakthrough so powerful it’s redefining how humanity works, learns, and creates.

And this breakthrough has already set off a frenzy among hedge funds and Wall Street’s top investors.

What most investors don’t realize is that one under-owned company holds the key to this $250 trillion revolution.

In fact, Verge argues this company’s supercheap AI technology should concern rivals.

Before I reveal the details, let’s talk about how some of the richest people on the planet are positioning themselves.

  • Bill Gates sees artificial intelligence as the “biggest technological advance in my lifetime,” more transformative than the internet or personal computer, capable of improving healthcare, education, and addressing climate change.
  • Larry Ellison — through Oracle, is spending billions on Nvidia chips and partnering with Cohere to embed generative AI across Oracle’s cloud and apps.
  • Warren Buffett — not known for tech hype — says this breakthrough could have a ‘hugely beneficial social impact.

When billionaires from Silicon Valley to Wall Street line up behind the same idea — you know it’s worth paying attention to.

Even as we admire what Tesla, Nvidia, Alphabet, and Microsoft have built, we believe an even greater opportunity lies elsewhere…

But the real story isn’t Nvidia — it’s a much smaller company quietly improving the critical technology that makes this entire revolution possible.

And judging by what I’m hearing from both Silicon Valley insiders and Wall Street veterans…

This prediction might not be bold at all:

My name is Inan Dogan. I’m the co-founder and Research Director of Insider Monkey. I have an important message for you today.

Since March 2017, my stock picks have returned 16.5% annually. Today, I’ve found an opportunity even bigger than my British American Tobacco call.

Two years ago, Wall Street wrote off British American Tobacco (BTI) as a “melting ice cube.” The stock had crashed 40% from its peak, and consensus said the business was dying.

We looked under the cover and realized they were wrong.

We alerted our subscribers, and BTI returned 90% in just 16 months.

Now if you had invested just $10,000 in BTI in June 2024, you’d be sitting on $19,000 in October 2025.

Today, we have identified a nearly identical pattern in a digital-first giant trading at $3.

While the market panics over a surface-level revenue decline, our PhD-led research shows management has actually surgically cut $100 million in waste to focus on high-margin growth.

This pattern is a hallmark of our 16.5% annual return track record. The current opportunity offers a 400% upside potential—dwarfing even our 90% BTI return.
