This isn’t the first time we have talked about Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) and its commitment to making the world a better place to live. If you remember this piece, we have followed Cupertino and its environmental impact in the past. This time around, we have a different type of story for you.

With this plan, Apple is teaming up with Nevada utility NV Energy to produce renewable energy as a means of keeping the plan in operation. As you can imagine, this is much better than the alternative.
Digital Spy touched on this report earlier this morning, which included some statements from Apple.
“All of Apple’s data centres use 100 percent renewable energy, and we are on track to meet that goal in our new Reno data center using the latest in high-efficiency concentrating solar panels.
This project will not only supply renewable energy for our data center but also provide clean energy to the local power grid, through a first-of-its-kind partnership with NV Energy.”
While this is big news for Apple Inc., it is not the first time the company has involved itself with this type of data center. Some of its other data centers powered by renewable energy sources are located in Cork, Ireland; Austin, Texas; and Elk Grove, California. As you can see, this is not just something Cupertino is doing in the United States. The company is looking to bring this type of data center to other parts of the world as well.
There is no denying the fact that Apple cares about the world. This shows through in its many data centers that are currently running on clean energy. As the years go by, there is reason to believe that Apple Inc. will continue to consider its many options for renewable energy solutions.
It would be nice to see more companies follow in Apple’s footsteps, as this is something that can truly impact the world and environment in a positive manner.
