Three days ago Tiger Global Management, founded by billionaire Chase Coleman, disclosed a 612K share position in Dominos Pizza Inc (NYSE:DPZ) as of December 31st. Dominos Pizza Inc (DPZ) shares were trading at $160 at the end of last year and gained 27% so far this year. Today Tiger Global disclosed that it purchased 2.4 million additional shares through February 7th. More than 1.5 million shares traded on February 7th vs. 438K shares today.
Hedge funds tracked by Insider Monkey collectively owned less than $1 billion worth of shares at the end of last year. Personally I prefer to dine at one of the oldest pizza places in NYC, but Chase Coleman must be a huge fan of Dominos’ pizza. Tiger Global’s position in the stock is now worth more than $550 million.
