Corvex Capital, Related Fund Management to Nominate New Board of Trustees at CommonWealth REIT

Keith Meister’s Corvex Capital, disclosed that the fund, together with Related Fund Management, will pursue the solicitation from the Arbitration Panel to remove the board of trustees of CommonWealth REIT (NYSE:CWH). The request for a record date will be sent until February 16, 2014, Corvex and Related stated in the notice sent to the company.

Amid this intention, both funds seek to negotiate with other shareholders in order to determinate a new board.

Last week, Corvex and Related Fund Management said that they approve the ruling of the Arbitration Panel, which stated that the funds, which in aggregate hold 9.6% of CommonWealth REIT, can nominate a new independent board of trustees.
