Apple Smart Television: While some consumers are waiting on Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) to announce its next generation iPhone and iPad, others are hoping for something more. These people are excited at the thought of Cupertino releasing a television or smart watch. In other words, they want to see something new.

Despite the fact that it makes sense for Apple to release a smart television at some point in the near future, the company is not talking about its plans. Sure, there have been rumors that this is in the works but nobody really knows for sure what is going on.

A Leading Company Cheaper Than 90% Of Blue Chips... And It Recently Bounced 12%That being said, we don’t have to look any further than a report by TDG Research to get a better idea of why now may be the best time for Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) to move forward.

Here is a summary of the report:

“This report outlines the consumer electronic and PC ecosystem within the broadband household. We measure ownership, room placement, and net connectivity of TVs and other ancillary devices (such as Blu-ray & DVD players, DVRs, iSTBs, game consoles & personal computers), outlining the changes over the last 3 years. Home network diffusion, usage and awareness is also analyzed.”

This may sound confusing, but the data is anything but that. GigaOM recently took a closer look at all the data, providing some information on why Apple should be excited about what this market has to offer.

According to the study, as noted by Giga OM, “14 percent of all broadband households owned an Apple TV, a Roku box or another kind of dedicated streaming device in 2012.”

This is a big number right? This shows that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is already established in the industry, right? While true on both accounts, it is even more important to note that 25 percent of people owned a smart TV. This goes to show you that Apple needs its own device. The market is ready for it.

With app integration, the ability to use Siri, and a screen that is sure to impress, consumers all over the world are wondering if Apple is ever going to push forward with this product.

Could an Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iTV be coming to the market in 2013 or early 2014? Many think that the answer is yes, however, Cupertino is not showing its cards. Only time will tell if Apple is going to take advantage of a market that appears to be expanding rapidly.
