Apple in Austin: Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has plans to do things big in Texas. Of course, this makes perfect sense since “everything is bigger in Texas.”

The Cupertino based company is in the process of expanding its Austin campus with a tentative completion date of 2021. While this may sound like a long time from now, things are moving in the right direction and the campus will be used well before then.

Apple Inc. (AAPL) to be Added to Several WisdomTree ETFsThis is big news for Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) as the company continues to look into expanding its operations, while also bringing new jobs to other parts of the world.

Last month, the Office of Governor Rick Perry laid out the details of the project, showing why this is such a big deal to Apple Inc. as well as the state as a whole.

During his press conference, Perry announced that Apple has plans to expand its presence through a “a $304 million investment in a new campus in Austin that will create more than 3,600 new jobs.”

When everything is said and done the number of Apple employees in Texas will double from where it stands today.

This is a win-win situation for the state as well as Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL). Since the tech giant plans to bring so many jobs to the area, the state has offered the company an invest of $21 million over the next 10 years. This money is being pledged by the Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF).

To show you just how excited the people of Texas have become about this project, here is some information from Governor Perry:

“Apple is known for its bold innovation and game-changing designs, and the expansion of their Austin facility adds to the growing list of visionary high-tech companies that have found that Texas’ economic climate is a perfect fit for their future, thanks to our low taxes, reasonable and predictable regulations, fair legal system and skilled workforce. Investments like this further Texas’ potential to become the nation’s next high-tech hub.”

In other words, the state of Texas wants to be known for more than good football and agriculture. Bringing Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) into the state is a great way to get started.

At this point, you may be wondering how far along the project really is. For an answer, we don’t have to look any further than Apple Insider. They recently posted photos of Apple Inc.’s progress.
