An Apple Inc. (AAPL) Toaster Is Coming

Apart from being rumored to be making an car, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is apparently also making a connected toaster.

That surprising information was shared by Brian Tong in an episode of Apply Byte from CNET. According to Tong, the new connected toaster from Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) [the Apple Toaster?] is part of the consumer electronics giant’s drive to have more and more appliances inside homes.

The CNET host hints that the toaster from the iPhone maker may be part of the company’s plans for HomeKit, their platform for the connected home.

“[…] New reports point to Apple actually making a connected toaster. The project is supposed to be a labor of love for Jony Ive who even told Fast Company [that] he’d like to design cups when he’s all done with Apple,” Tong says in the report.

The new Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) Toaster is potentially a fun side project for the firm’s design chief, Tong added.

In other news about Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), the CNET host notes that a Vietnamese site recently uploaded its own hands-on video with the new 12-Inch Macbook. This is despite the release date for the said machine still a week away this April 10th.

However, Tong notes that the video posted by Tinhte.vn appears to be of a non-shipping models of the new Macbook as it does not boot up in OS10. Nonetheless, all the hardware appears to be the real deal.

Meanwhile, Tong also reported about photos of what appear to be the new iPad Pro that first appeared on a Dutch website. The photos show a device with either a secondary lightning cable connector or a USB Type C connector on one side of the device, he adds.

Furthermore, surround sound is hinted with the photos as additional speaker grills can be seen right beside the headphone jack for the rumored iPad Pro.

The CNET host says that the leaked photos are consistent with what was reported in January to be a case for the new iPad Pro. Later on, he says that the device may be released in the second half of the year.

He also says that if people take into consideration reports such as that of The Wall Street Journal, which recently said that the iPhone maker is moving to support USB 3.0 to enable keyboard and mouse connections, Apple may be making a new iPad Pro with a high-resolution display between 12.2 to 12.9 inches, a new A8X processor, 2GB of RAM, Touch ID and optional stylus support.

David Einhorn’s Greenlight Capital owned about 8.61 million Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) shares by the end of last year.
