AI Data Centers Are Running Out of Water. This $6 Stock Has a Fix

Major AI stocks are getting expensive and everyday investors are in search of low-priced names that have the potential to return huge profits in the long term. To find where smart retail investors are putting their money, we scoured Reddit’s investing communities and zeroed in on low-priced stocks with real growth potential. One name kept coming up: AirJoule Technologies (NASDAQ:AIRJ). Here’s what could be driving the buzz.

AirJoule: What It Does

AirJoule is working on technology that pulls water from the air. It’s focusing on two systems. The smaller Core unit is for homes and smaller sites. The larger Prime unit is built for heavy industrial use and can make up to 2,000 liters of distilled water a day.

AirJoule is expanding through partnerships. It signed a joint venture with GE Vernova. Under the deal, GE Vernova helps build and commercialize the AirJoule systems. That’s a big vote of confidence from a major industrial name. Another important deal came with Carrier Global. Carrier is a giant in cooling and air systems. It teamed up with AirJoule to help bring the technology to market and reach more customers. Bulls also point to its deal with Japanese water giant Kubota. Kubota bought two AirJoule systems and got exclusive rights to sell them for housing in Texas and California.

The Real Story: AI Data Centers Need Water

Redditors are highlighting the AI angle that makes the stock interesting. AI data centers need water for cooling. Water is a limited resource and permits for it are hard to come by. Water has become one of the biggest things holding up new AI data centers. Some operators have walked away from multibillion-dollar projects because they couldn’t lock down a water source.

AirJoule’s pitch is to solve that. Its Prime system makes water right at the data center, straight from the air, so the operator skips the permit fight and stops draining the local supply.

AirJoule’s water gear runs just 1% to 3% of the total build cost. So if the equipment removes even a short delay, it can pay for itself fast.

The company is practically showing its role in the AI revolution. AirJoule signed an agreement with Nexus Data Centers, an AI hyperscale developer building one of the world’s largest data center campuses in Hubbard, Texas. The two are moving toward a formal water purchase agreement, and AirJoule already has a field demo running at the site. That gives the story a real, named customer instead of a vague promise.

There’s a military angle too. AirJoule has a three-year research deal with the US Army to build water systems for forward-deployed troops.

Risks

The company still has to prove the tech works in the field and makes money at scale. Management targets a 30% to 35% gross margin long term, but nobody knows the real economics yet, and cheaper options like desalination already exist. The stock is already up 50% so far this year. That means a lot of the good news may already be priced in.

While we acknowledge the risk and potential of AIRJ as an investment, our conviction lies in the belief that some AI  stocks hold greater promise for delivering higher returns and doing so within a shorter time frame.
