Following the wedding, she bore the titles Princess of Wales, Duchess of Cornwall, Duchess of Rothesay and Countess of Chester. She had two sons with Prince Charles, namely William and Harry, two boys that grew up into men who inherited and embodied their mother’s kindheartedness.

Unfortunately, the marriage didn’t last. Within a few years things started to shake. Prince Charles rekindled his relationship with a former girlfriend, Camilla Parker Bowles, while Princess Diana began a new relationship as well, affairs that were revealed publicly in 1992. This was the same year that the “amicable separation” of the two spouses was formally announced. The divorce came years later, in 1996, and it carried all the legal intricacies of a royal breakup.

By the time of her death, Lady Di was in a relationship with Dodi Fayed, the son of an Egyptian billionaire. It was August 31 when the car that Diana and Fayed were in crashed into a tunnel on the Pont de L’alma in Paris. Still, her memory remains alive so many years after her death, as does her work in various fields.

The suddenness of her death gave birth to countless rumors. You can check out 6 conspiracy theories about Princess Diana’s death, as well as another list we put together regarding 6 Jesus and Christianity conspiracy theories.

6. The Fiat

The mysterious Fiat Uno that traveled alongside the Mercedes Princess Diana was in continues to make people wonder. According to the investigation, the car had had contact with a white Fiat Uno that the authorities couldn’t find during their investigations. It is unclear just what role the contact between the two cars had in the accident. Theories point to the car belonging to the MI6 or to a photojournalist following Diana and her companion.

5. It was the MI6

A former MI6 employee, Richard Tomlinson, who had been discharged from the agency swore the secretive MI6 spy agency was at the root of Lady Di’s death. He claimed that the agency had been monitoring Diana before her death through Henri Paul, the driver that was at the wheel during the fatal crash. Years later he retracted that statement, saying he must have misremembered, as if the entire situation weren’t already sufficiently suspicious.

4. It was the driver’s fault

They range from stating that he had been on the payroll of various security services given by the money making its way into his account before the incident, to accusing him of being drunk, accusations based on the blood alcohol levels provided by the French authorities. 3. No recordings

In a city that is perpetually monitored, the lack of CCTV images of Diana’s car is highly suspicious. Conspiracy theories claim that the footage of the car’s journey from the hotel to the bridge where it crashed was erased to hide crucial details.

2. The light

Some believe that it wasn’t an accidental car crash at all. In fact, they go as far as to suggest that it was a flash of light that led to Diana’s death, particularly after reports of a bright white flash being seen about the time the car entered the tunnel. This is said to have blinded the driver, who then crashed into the bridge.

1. It was Diana’s relationship

Many voices say that the conservative Royal Family wasn’t particularly happy with the relationship the Princess was in following her divorce from Prince Charles, despite his numerous affairs during and following their marriage. What upset them most, some say, is the fact that Dodi Fayed wasn’t a Christian and bringing him into the folds of the Royal Family wasn’t something they desired. Furthermore, rumor had it that Diana was pregnant with Fayed’s baby and they were to be engaged. The engagement part of the theory was confirmed by Fayed’s father.

The theory that Diana was pregnant at the time of her death was debunked by a former coroner who claimed to have attended the post-mortem examination. Either way, this is one of the 6 conspiracy theories about Princess Diana’s death.
