Topping our list of the 15 most valuable alcohol companies is China’s Kweichow Moutai. The company is the most valuable alcohol company in the world by market cap, exceeding the 2019 GDP of China’s third-richest city, Shenzhen, at about $417.4 billion. The conglomerate is principally engaged in the manufacturing and selling of the premium Moutai liquor series. Almost 97% of the company’s sales are made domestically as the drink is China’s national spirit. Today, the brand is seen as more of a high-end status symbol, as some consumers purchase it not to drink, but to keep it as an investment. A limited-edition bottle of Moutai can fetch more than $40,000 each. 

Kweichow reported $10.39 billion in revenue for the first three quarters of 2020, an increase of 10.31% year over year. Shares of Moutai rallied 102.46% over the past twelve months.
