2. Amazon Food

Total revenue: 3.6 billion USD

Yes, we all know Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) has launched Amazon Pantry and Amazon Fresh which delivers grocery products to your doorstep. Amazon recently challenged the Indian food delivery market like Zomato and Swiggy as they enter the Indian market and started servicing some pin codes in Bengaluru. The e-commerce giant has entered the Indian market by investing over $6.5 billion. The e-commerce tycoon started offering lower commission fees on local restaurants in India as a prelude to their entry into the Indian market. This is reported to be lower than the 15 to 20% fee by Swiggy and Zomato. According to data from JM Financial, Amazon Food is projected to double its value from 3.6 billion USD to 8.6 billion USD in 2025 despite the pandemic recession. Could this be the best time for Amazon to launch their food delivery service in India? Local competitors like Zomato reported having laid-off hundreds and is currently experiencing a slow recovery rate from the lockdown.
