Market capitalization in 2019 (in billions of dollars): 311.59

Total revenue for 2019 (in billions of dollars): 87.45

Topping the list of 5 largest beverage companies in the world is Nestle, even after removing billions of dollars of revenue from its water business. The caveat here is that we couldn’t separate the food sales from the beverage sales, but even then, Nestle is a behemoth in its own right. It has a strong presence in dozens of countries across the world. Even in Pakistan, if you go to any grocery store, you will find tons of Nescafe beverages and products available. Of course, this shouldn’t detract from the tons of controversy the Swiss giant has endured, which includes aggressive marketing of breast milk substitutes, especially in poorer countries, slavery and child labor exploitation, anti-union activities in Columbia and deforestation accusations, and these are just some of the bigger ones.
