5. Kingdom of Belgium

Tobacco Exports in 2021: $1.8 billion

The Kingdom of Belgium is a prosperous and developed Northwestern European country. It exported $1.8 billion worth of tobacco products in 2021, and Belgium is known for some novel tobacco types that cannot be found anywhere else in the world. One of these is the La Brumeuse blend that is grown in the Semois valley. This particular tobacco is a natural evolution of the plant that has evolved alongside the valley’s uncharacteristic climatic conditions for tobacco production. Another popular Belgian brand, which is now discontinued, is Belga. Some tobacco companies are J.Cortés Cigars, Asbjornsen, and Agio Cigars.

4. Italian Republic

The Italian Republic, or simply Italy, is a European country that is also a global power in modern day politics. Italian tobacco is primarily grown in the Tuscany, Umbria, Veneto, and Campania regions. Like other countries, tobacco grown in the regions is also unique, and ranges from Virginia tobacco, Air Cured Burley, dark air cured, and dark fire cured tobacco. A famous Italian tobacco company was Ente Tabacchi Italiani – ETI S.p.A., which was one of the largest tobacco companies in the country but was later taken over by British American Tobacco. The company was known for its MS brand of cigarettes.

3. Federal Republic of Germany

The Federal Republic of Germany, or simply Germany, is Europe’s largest economy. Tobacco is a small portion of its agricultural outputs and is grown primarily in the North Baden area. Despite this, Germany is the world’s third largest tobacco exporter, after having exported $2.9 billion worth of the product in 2021. The country also has had a variety of different local tobacco companies, such as the cigar and cigarette company Zigarettenfabrik A. Batschari, Dannemann Cigars (Dannemann Cigarrenfabrik, and the Imperial Brands subsidiary Reemtsma Cigarettenfabriken GmbH.

The United Arab Emirates, commonly called UAE, is an Asian country that is also a global tourist destination. UAE’s Hatta Valley is known for growing its tobacco. UAE is the world leader in tobacco exports because of its Jebel Ali Free Trade Zone. This is a hub of tobacco manufacturing, and most products made there are immediately exported. Some Dubai based tobacco companies are Orchid Tobacco, Gulbahar Tobacco International, and BMJ Industries.

The Republic of Poland is a European country. It is one of the largest countries in the European Union when it comes to producing both tobacco and cigarettes. The Polish industry is dominated by large tobacco companies, who also manufacture the cigarettes sold in the country inside the country. A popular Polish brand of cigarettes was the Popularne, alongside which a variety of other local brands such as Caro, Jan III Sobieski, Iris, Fox, Viva, and Mars are also currently present.
