Ranking 3rd in our list of the least hygienic countries in the world is Pakistan. According to the children’s charity Unicef, it was revealed that out of Pakistan’s population of 200 million, a staggering 22.2 million people lack access to proper sanitation and toilets. Tragically, waterborne and sanitation-related diseases such as cholera, diarrhea, typhoid, and polio are among the top causes of mortality in Pakistan. Shockingly, 94,000 people in the country succumb to illnesses stemming from the consumption of contaminated water, while an additional 53,000 Pakistani children under the age of 5 lose their lives annually due to diarrhea resulting from inadequate water and sanitation facilities.
