In this article, we will look at the 25 cheapest cities to visit in Asia. You can skip our industry discussion as well as companies operating in this industry by skipping to 5 Cheapest Cities to Visit in Asia.

Overview of the Asian Tourism Sector

Travel was one of the most prominent industries in the Asia-Pacific region before the COVID-19 pandemic. According to a United National World Travel Organization report, international arrivals in Asia went from 208 million to 360 million visitors between 2010 and 2019. However, recovery after the halt in international travel was the slowest in the Asia Pacific region. According to estimates by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, China, including Macau and Hong Kong, received around 260 million international visitors in 2019. A majority of the countries in Asia opened their borders to international tourists by the end of 2022, bringing the region’s tourist arrivals in Q4 of 2022 to 50% of Q4 in 2019.

Tourist arrivals in the Maldives quickly recovered to pre-pandemic levels, whereas the rate of arrivals in India and Fiji recovered gradually throughout 2022. However, China’s borders did not open completely until 2023, reducing the number of travelers to Asia. China’s outbound tourists also held a key spot in Asia’s tourism spending, making 155 million trips and spending $255 billion in 2019. South Asia recovered the fastest in the region, bouncing back at a 93% rate as compared to other regions in the continent. Although Asia is on the path to recovery, geopolitical tensions such as the NATO-Russia tensions, the Ukraine war, and strained relationships between the US and China impede its progress. Key Figures in Promoting Travel and Hospitality

Several travel tech companies in the region have played their part in facilitating travel to Asia and the Pacific and pushing it on the path of a speedy recovery. India’s MakeMyTrip Limited (NASDAQ:MMYT) reported that the company saw a 45% increase in searches in 2023 as compared to pre-pandemic levels in 2019. Similarly, about 25% more people in 2023 took more than three trips as opposed to 2019. On March 7, Thailand Business News reported that Agoda Inc. and Airbnb, Inc. (NASDAQ:ABNB) are revolutionizing the travel and hospitality industry. On April 8, Skift reported that Agoda Inc. also signed an agreement with Goa Tourism to promote accessible tourism in the city. Headquartered in Singapore, Agoda is a subsidiary of Booking Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ:BKNG) that caters to users in the Asia-Pacific region. Amanpreet Singh Bajaj, General Manager for Airbnb, Inc. (NASDAQ:ABNB) in Southeast Asia, India, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, said that the company recovered to its pre-pandemic booking rates in 2022, even exceeding them by 23% in 2023 in India.

On April 11, Airbnb, Inc. (NASDAQ:ABNB) reported that the company pledged $1 million to celebrate the first-ever US-Japan Tourism Year and make travel accessible to people around the world. The money will be used to fund a “multi-year rural tourism exchange program” between the two countries. The program aims to pave the way for economic opportunities to boost tourism in the rural areas of both countries. Around 15-20 Japanese tourism and hospitality professionals will visit the USA through the program, collaborating with their American peers and devising best practices for rural tourism.

25 Cheapest Cities to Visit in Asia

Our Methodology

To compile a list of the 25 cheapest cities to visit in Asia, we followed a consensus approach. We generated a list of the cheapest Asian cities for tourists after consulting ten online travel expert sources. In order to narrow down our list to 25 cheapest Asian cities, we considered the round-trip package rates for each city as the primary metric. We individually searched for the cheapest round-trip package for each city on Kayak, and arranged our list of the 25 cheapest cities to visit in Asia in descending order of their round-trip cost.

Please note that the round-trip package includes airfare (with a minimum of one and maximum of two layovers), and a 3-star accommodation for one week (5 nights).  The departure destination of each flight is set to John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, USA. The package is based on the travel cost of one adult traveler, and meals are not included in it. We have only considered packages that have a rating of 7 and above. The rates for each package represent the time this article was written, as of 2024. It is important to note that these rates are subject to change at different times of the year. These numbers thus present a moderate calculation of the cost of travel to each of these Asian cities.

AI, Tariffs, Nuclear Power: One Undervalued Stock Connects ALL the Dots (Before It Explodes!)

Artificial intelligence is the greatest investment opportunity of our lifetime. The time to invest in groundbreaking AI is now, and this stock is a steal!

AI is eating the world—and the machines behind it are ravenous.

Each ChatGPT query, each model update, each robotic breakthrough consumes massive amounts of energy. In fact, AI is already pushing global power grids to the brink.

Wall Street is pouring hundreds of billions into artificial intelligence—training smarter chatbots, automating industries, and building the digital future. But there’s one urgent question few are asking:

Where will all of that energy come from?

AI is the most electricity-hungry technology ever invented. Each data center powering large language models like ChatGPT consumes as much energy as a small city. And it’s about to get worse.

Even Sam Altman, the founder of OpenAI, issued a stark warning:

“The future of AI depends on an energy breakthrough.”

Elon Musk was even more blunt:

“AI will run out of electricity by next year.”

As the world chases faster, smarter machines, a hidden crisis is emerging behind the scenes. Power grids are strained. Electricity prices are rising. Utilities are scrambling to expand capacity.

And that’s where the real opportunity lies…

One little-known company—almost entirely overlooked by most AI investors—could be the ultimate backdoor play. It’s not a chipmaker. It’s not a cloud platform. But it might be the most important AI stock in the US owns critical energy infrastructure assets positioned to feed the coming AI energy spike.

As demand from AI data centers explodes, this company is gearing up to profit from the most valuable commodity in the digital age: electricity.

The “Toll Booth” Operator of the AI Energy Boom

  • It owns critical nuclear energy infrastructure assets, positioning it at the heart of America’s next-generation power strategy.
  • It’s one of the only global companies capable of executing large-scale, complex EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) projects across oil, gas, renewable fuels, and industrial infrastructure.
  • It plays a pivotal role in U.S. LNG exportation—a sector about to explode under President Trump’s renewed “America First” energy doctrine.

Trump has made it clear: Europe and U.S. allies must buy American LNG.

And our company sits in the toll booth—collecting fees on every drop exported.

But that’s not all…

As Trump’s proposed tariffs push American manufacturers to bring their operations back home, this company will be first in line to rebuild, retrofit, and reengineer those facilities.

AI. Energy. Tariffs. Onshoring. This One Company Ties It All Together.

While the world is distracted by flashy AI tickers, a few smart investors are quietly scooping up shares of the one company powering it all from behind the scenes.

AI needs energy. Energy needs infrastructure.

And infrastructure needs a builder with experience, scale, and execution.

This company has its finger in every pie—and Wall Street is just starting to notice.

Wall Street is noticing this company also because it is quietly riding all of these tailwinds—without the sky-high valuation.

While most energy and utility firms are buried under mountains of debt and coughing up hefty interest payments just to appease bondholders…

This company is completely debt-free.

In fact, it’s sitting on a war chest of cash—equal to nearly one-third of its entire market cap.

It also owns a huge equity stake in another red-hot AI play, giving investors indirect exposure to multiple AI growth engines without paying a premium.

And here’s what the smart money has started whispering…

The Hedge Fund Secret That’s Starting to Leak Out

This stock is so off-the-radar, so absurdly undervalued, that some of the most secretive hedge fund managers in the world have begun pitching it at closed-door investment summits.

They’re sharing it quietly, away from the cameras, to rooms full of ultra-wealthy clients.

Why? Because excluding cash and investments, this company is trading at less than 7 times earnings.

And that’s for a business tied to:

  • The AI infrastructure supercycle
  • The onshoring boom driven by Trump-era tariffs
  • A surge in U.S. LNG exports
  • And a unique footprint in nuclear energy—the future of clean, reliable power

You simply won’t find another AI and energy stock this cheap… with this much upside.

This isn’t a hype stock. It’s not riding on hope.

It’s delivering real cash flows, owns critical infrastructure, and holds stakes in other major growth stories.

This is your chance to get in before the rockets take off!

Disruption is the New Name of the Game: Let’s face it, complacency breeds stagnation.

AI is the ultimate disruptor, and it’s shaking the foundations of traditional industries.
