20 Saddest Cities in the World

3. Dhaka

Dakha has been regarded as one of the world’s saddest cities. There are five significant factors that contribute to the city’s overall unhappiness: poverty, bad neighborhoods, hunger, loneliness, and a lack of decent jobs available. It should be noted, however, that the underlying causes are impoverished communities, a lack of quality employment, and the COVID pandemic. In addition, Dhaka has been ranked as the least livable city due to its deplorable living conditions, traffic congestion, and population of slum dwellers. Due to globalization and climate-induced disasters, the city has experienced accelerated urbanization, which has put a strain on its resources. Dhaka’s reluctance to decentralize and invest in other cities has made the problem worse. All these factors contribute to making Dhaka one of the saddest cities in the world.
