15 Ugliest Nationalities in Europe According To Reddit

In this article, we will take a look at the 15 ugliest nationalities in Europe according to Reddit.

Beauty is a subjective concept. What is beautiful to one person may be repulsive to another. However, when polls speak out, it may be quite insulting and discriminatory. Many studies found substantial inter-racial and inter-cultural agreement in face beauty judgment, Langlois et al. said. However, the majority of the research was done on people who were heavily exposed to Western culture. Such populations may have acquired European norms of facial attractiveness through social learning or visual encounters with White people’s faces, Little et al. added.

While these opinions can be true, they can also lead to hostility, toxicity, and negativity. For example, xenophobia, or a hatred of or prejudice against individuals from other nations, has existed for many years. While dominant theories have concentrated on cost-benefit analysis to explain public support for European integration, political beliefs also play an essential role in determining individual judgments, De Master and Le Roy stated. They added that one such attitude is the view of the nation as the embodiment of culture. Support for integration and xenophobia are reactions to external influences on the nation-state. Thus, in their paper titled Xenophobia and the European Union, the researchers noted that xenophobia and support for integration should be negatively connected, according to political culture theory. Empirical investigation reveals that xenophobia is an important element that should be investigated further by both scholars and practitioners of European integration.

Our Methodology

In this article, an American social news aggregation, content review, and conversation website called Reddit was utilized. It is a community network where people may explore their interests, hobbies, and passions. The name of the website is a pun on the phrase “I read it.” Thus, we examined 8 Reddit posts (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8) that bear the question: “What European country has the ugliest people in your opinion?”. One point was awarded for each nationality that was found in the list of sources. The 15 ugliest nationalities in Europe according to Reddit, were identified by rating them according to these criteria. We did not intend to classify the least attractive country in the world or the ugliest European country in terms of its natural resources, but we identified points from Reddit users based on their opinions about what they find attractive and unattractive about the physical appearances of people.

So without further ado, let us now discuss our list of the 15 ugliest nationalities in Europe, according to Reddit.

15 Ugliest Nationalities in Europe According To Reddit

15. Romanian

Perhaps the reason Romanians are considered ugly is because they are rude. Google searches for “Romanians are…” produce negative results such as “Romanians are rude” or “Romanians are lazy.”

14. Ukrainians

“I read that I am ugly!” was the message on the banners hoisted by the women who attended the 2012 protest clad in long gowns. These are women studying law, medicine, and education. Sadly, these women were upset with Dmytro Tabachnyk, the education minister, for saying that female university students were not as beautiful as other women. This is indeed a real insult.

13. Finns

Only ugly people need to dress up, according to an old Finnish proverb (Vain rumat ne vaatteilla koreilee). This suggests that ugly individuals frequently seek alternative kinds of compensation, namely expensive apparel.

12. Germans

German candidates were criticized for submitting unattractive photos, which may have affected their acceptance percentages, which were the lowest in their category at 15% for men and 13% for women on the website BeautifulPeople.com. There, a photo and a brief bio are submitted with a membership application. The site stated that after 48 hours, current members of the opposite sex vote on whether or not to allow them.”Yes definitely,” “Hmm yes, O.K.,” “Hmm no, not really,” and “No definitely not” are the available responses.

11. Greeks

Reddit claims that Greeks are on the list. While the ancient Greeks are renowned for having an exceptionally high standard for beauty, as seen by their magnificent artworks, history reveals that each Greek town would nominate its ugliest citizen, known as the pharmakos, when the insecure agrarian civilizations started to worry for their existence during periods of plague or famine. However, an aristocrat with a huge nose would not qualify; “ugly” in this context presumably meant malformed in some way, and certainly from the margins of society.

10. Swiss

Racists, stiff, ugly heifers on high horses, and no sex allowed are all stereotypes of the Swiss. This is how a half-British person described the Swiss.

9. Scots

“Ugly as hell” describes every Scottish woman. That is the assertion that horrified a woman from Edinburgh as she was going through passport control at a Portuguese airport. Her nationality is questioned at the airport because of her appearance.

8. Irish

Based on a Reddit discussion on the question, Do you think that Irish men and women are uglier or unattractive compared to people from other countries? Particularly when it comes to topics regarding dating and relationships, some commenters complain or make a comment about how unattractive Irish people are. Additionally, there are many who criticize their sense of style, from lads sporting the same hairstyles and attire as ladies to all the artificial tans that women sport.

7. Belarusians

In a discussion on Quora about Why is Belarus so horrible? One answered that it is horrible because of its people. Belarusians are grumpy, he said. They appear to have a permanent scowl engraved on their faces from birth. Their accents sound as though they are attempting to speak while chewing on pebbles.

6. Belgians

The stereotypical image of a “moon-faced” reddish male (flaming) is how a typical young Belgian male was described in Quora under the discussion Why are Belgians facially distinct from other Western Europeans? It added that in Western Europe, these features of a Belgian male will be instantly recognizable to everyone.

5. Balt

Lithuanians, Latvians, and Estonians collectively make up the Baltic States, and they are known as Balt. They were described as having small heads, large faces, a heavy, massive underjaw, a flat, rather broad chin, a short nose with a low bridge, stiff, light ash-blond hair, light grey or pale blue eyes that stood out, and light skin with a grayish undertone.

4. British

According to a dating site that only permits “beautiful people” to join, Britons are among the world’s ugliest people. Based on an emailed statement from the company, just one in every eight British males and three in every twenty women who applied to BeautifulPeople.com were accepted. The website was released internationally after being founded in Denmark in 2002. Since then, the website has turned away about 1.8 million visits from 190 countries while only allowing 360,000 new users. It is sad that only a few Britons were admitted.

Simply put, British people have not perfected the skill of appearing attractive in hot weather due to the absence of a tropical environment in their country. Women seldom leave their homes in bikinis in the UK, so they do not often become aware of their lack of exercise since Christmas until they are on vacation. The British way of life—a diet heavy in fat and alcohol, an overzealous work ethic, and a general disregard for physical well-being—adds up to a very unpleasant sight. The conventional idea of appropriate mealtimes has been abandoned in both circumstances, with the employed working like hounds and the jobless sitting like logs.

The $250 Trillion AI Hype is Real. A few years from now, you’ll probably wish you’d bought this stock.

When Jeff Bezos said that one breakthrough technology would shape Amazon’s destiny, even Wall Street’s biggest analysts were caught off guard.

Fast forward a year and Amazon’s new CEO Andy Jassy described generative AI as a “once-in-a-lifetime” technology that is already being used across Amazon to reinvent customer experiences.

At the 8th Future Investment Initiative conference, Elon Musk predicted that by 2040 there would be at least 10 billion humanoid robots, with each priced between $20,000 and $25,000.

Do the math. According to Musk, this technology could be worth $250 trillion by 2040.

Put another way, that’s roughly equal to:

  • 175 Teslas
  • 107 Amazons
  • 140 Metas
  • 84 Googles
  • 65 Microsofts
  • And 55 Nvidias

And here’s the wild part — this $250 trillion wave isn’t tied to one company, but to an entire ecosystem of AI innovators set to reshape the global economy.

It’s a leap so massive, it could reshape how businesses, governments, and consumers operate worldwide.

Even if that $250 trillion figure sounds ambitious, major firms like PwC and McKinsey still see AI unlocking multi-trillion-dollar potential.

How could anything be worth that much?

The answer lies in a breakthrough so powerful it’s redefining how humanity works, learns, and creates.

And this breakthrough has already set off a frenzy among hedge funds and Wall Street’s top investors.

What most investors don’t realize is that one under-owned company holds the key to this $250 trillion revolution.

In fact, Verge argues this company’s supercheap AI technology should concern rivals.

Before I reveal the details, let’s talk about how some of the richest people on the planet are positioning themselves.

  • Bill Gates sees artificial intelligence as the “biggest technological advance in my lifetime,” more transformative than the internet or personal computer, capable of improving healthcare, education, and addressing climate change.
  • Larry Ellison — through Oracle, is spending billions on Nvidia chips and partnering with Cohere to embed generative AI across Oracle’s cloud and apps.
  • Warren Buffett — not known for tech hype — says this breakthrough could have a ‘hugely beneficial social impact.

When billionaires from Silicon Valley to Wall Street line up behind the same idea — you know it’s worth paying attention to.

Even as we admire what Tesla, Nvidia, Alphabet, and Microsoft have built, we believe an even greater opportunity lies elsewhere…

But the real story isn’t Nvidia — it’s a much smaller company quietly improving the critical technology that makes this entire revolution possible.

And judging by what I’m hearing from both Silicon Valley insiders and Wall Street veterans…

This prediction might not be bold at all:

A few years from now, you’ll wish you’d owned this stock.

My name is Inan Dogan. I’m the co-founder and Research Director of Insider Monkey. I have an important message for you today.

Since March 2017, my stock picks have returned 16.5% annually. Today, I’ve found an opportunity even bigger than my British American Tobacco call.

Two years ago, Wall Street wrote off British American Tobacco (BTI) as a “melting ice cube.” The stock had crashed 40% from its peak, and consensus said the business was dying.

We looked under the cover and realized they were wrong.

We alerted our subscribers, and BTI returned 90% in just 16 months.

Now if you had invested just $10,000 in BTI in June 2024, you’d be sitting on $19,000 in October 2025.

Today, we have identified a nearly identical pattern in a digital-first giant trading at $3.

While the market panics over a surface-level revenue decline, our PhD-led research shows management has actually surgically cut $100 million in waste to focus on high-margin growth.

This pattern is a hallmark of our 16.5% annual return track record. The current opportunity offers a 400% upside potential—dwarfing even our 90% BTI return.
