Seeing the Netherlands on this list may come as a surprise since the Dutch aren’t usually associated with weapons sales. Despite their love for botany and flowers, it turned out that the Dutch have a highly developed defense industry and they profit nicely from it. However, in a surprising move, the Dutch decided to put their money where their mouth is and ban arms exports to Saudi Arabia in 2016, over concerns of Kingdom’s human rights record. They remain the only country on our list that has done that; other major arms dealing countries decided to limit their protests to rhetoric only.
