The International Consumer Electronics Show, better known as CES, is the international playground for technology corporations and industry professionals around the globe. The annual show, which is held in January in Las Vegas, Nevada, showcases some of the niftiest and coolest gadgets around.

Following, we would like to present you with a list we have compiled of the top 5 gadgets presented at the lasted edition of CES. Curious to see which will be the hottest gadgets in 2014? Let’s take a look at the countdown.

No. 5: Oculus Rift

For the 2nd year in a row, Oculus Innovative Sciences, Inc. (NASDAQ:OCLS) decided to enchant viewers at CES with their Rift prototype, the ultimate reality headset for gamers. But this time they came with a new Crystal Cove, which allows for out-of-this-world head tracking. In addition, they also solved the previous issues they had with motion blur and lag time. Even though it will probably be a while before the Oculus Rift will finally reach the markets, we can’t help but feel excited; it is safe to assume that, once it does get released, it will be a big hit.

No. 4: Vizio’s $1, 000 4K Television

Ultra HD TV sets were practically everywhere on CES. But the good news is that their prices are slowly dropping. Introducing the Vizio 4K, with prices starting at $1,000. And that’s for a 50-inch TV se, no less.  Even if you’re not that fond of Ultra HD, you can’t deny that it is pretty much an unbeatable deal.

No.3: Razer’s project Christine

Razer had several products on display at the 2014 CES, but what caught our attention is their latest concept – Project Christine. Basically, Project Christine is the company’s attempt to introduce customizable and stackable PCs. Users will be able to swap the computer’s components in the self-containing unit, as needed. Even though the project remains a concept, Razor hopes it will draw the attention of gamers worldwide.

No. 2: DoorBot

For those of us out there who are too lazy to get off the couch to see who’s knocking on the door, CES 2014 introduced us to a possible solution: the DoorBot. Basically, this nifty little device is a sort of doorbell, which uses Wi-Fi technology to let you see and talk with who’s standing outside your door. Anytime someone rings the bell, a video call will be initiated on your phone. And the greatest thing is that you don’t even have to be home to be able to use. You can connect with multiple devices, as long as they use an Android or iOS operating system.

No. 1: Sony Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:SNE) 4K Ultra Short Throw Projector

This was essentially the most mind-blowing device on display at the 2014 CES. The project can be placed directly on the ground and directed upwards, so that it can turn your ceiling into an impressive 147-inch screen. Home projectors are not what they used to, but the Sony 4K is in a league of its own. If you were looking for home cinema solutions, definitely take into consideration Sony’s latest baby. The company hasn’t yet announced a pricing, but it’s safe to assume that it will be on the high-end.
