With a struggling economy and a rising unemployment rate, finding a job these days is no easy task. However, with the holiday season just upon us, numerous companies have opened up job positions for seasonal employees. While a short-length job is not necessarily a first option for many, seasonal jobs represent a good way of making money and gaining experience. Following, we would like to present you with a list we have compiled of the top 10 hiring companies of the moment. The companies were ranked according to the total number of jobs listings opened this winter season and the figures used were taken from the statistics issued earlier this month by Forbes Magazine.

The top industries hiring new staff right now are, in order, retail, information technology, leisure and hospitality, and financial services. In fact, nine out of the ten companies listed are from the retail industry. Most of the companies on our list are willing to hire college students or people without previous work experience, so people looking for their first job this winter holiday have high chances of getting employed. The average hourly salary for the jobs listed below is around $10 per hour, which is not particularly high, but it is still more than the minimum wage.

Looking for a job this winter holiday? Check the countdown below and see what would best suit you. Let’s take a look.

Note: the figures used in this countdown are estimates, as some positions may have already been occupied. In addition, some companies only list one job position when they in fact intend to hire more than one person for that particular job. In conclusion, the exact number of open position might be slightly higher or lower than what is stated in our countdown.
