Raging Capital is Bullish on 1-800-FLOWERS.COM Inc. (FLWS)

For the fiscal 2014 third quarter, the company reported revenues from continuing operations of $179.6 million, compared with revenues from continuing operations of $191.6 million in the prior year period. The 6.3% decline was primarily driven by the shift of the Easter holiday into its fiscal fourth quarter, compared with the prior year when the holiday fell in the company’s fiscal third quarter, the company stated, adding that revenues were also impacted by severe winter weather beginning in January, as well as the winter storm that effected much of the country at the key Valentine holiday.

For the year, 1-800-FLOWERS.COM Inc. (NASDAQ:FLWS) anticipates to achieve revenue growth across all three of its business segments with consolidated revenue growth for the year in the low-to-mid-single-digit range. The company expects EBITDA and EPS for the year will be flat to down slightly compared with the prior year.
