We have been discussing the possibility of a cheaper Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone since the beginning of the year. Despite the fact that Cupertino has not led on that this device will be coming to market anytime soon, it has not stopped countless rumors from getting consumers excited. From one side of the world to the next, particularly in emerging markets, consumers are looking forward to the day that Apple decides to announce a cheaper smartphone.

Apple Inc (AAPL)These rumors are not going to die down unless Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) comes out and gives some information one way or the next. Until then, we can expect people to continue to talk about what this could mean for the smartphone market as well as Cupertino as a whole.

With all this in mind, we once again have another rumor. This time around, Chinese blogger 7mob, as reported by Digital Spy, claims to have gotten his hands on the low price iPhone.

At this point, there is no way of knowing if this could truly be the rear casing of a cheaper iPhone. That being said, many feel that this is the real thing being that the blogger is known to have connections with many Chinese factory workers.

This is not the first image claiming to show the cheaper Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone. Many others have claimed the same, although as noted above, nobody is going to believe anything to be 100 percent true until it comes from Cupertino direct.

There are many reasons to believe that a cheaper iPhone could be coming soon. As Digital Spy noted, “it is thought that Apple could be planning to produce a scaled-down iOS handset with cheaper parts such as a plastic shell instead of aluminum casing.”

This is exactly what we see with the most recent image leak. Perhaps the most interesting detail of the leak is the color of the casing, which is shown in green.

If Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) hopes to better compete in emerging markets in the future, it would be best served to do so with the help of a cheaper iPhone. This would go a long way in solidifying the company as one of the top smartphone contenders in a growing number of regions.

We have included the image on the next page, so be sure to check it out and let us know your thoughts. Do you believe this to be a photo of a low cost iPhone?
