This is something Bloomberg Television took a closer look at during a recent “Market Makers” segment.

Apple Inc. (AAPL)Here is the video introduction:

“Apples newest TV commercials, showing consumers enjoying its products while an actor reads the company’s corporate philosophy, are a flop compared with earlier ads from the maker of iPhones and iPads. Jon Erlichman reports on Bloomberg Television’s “Market Makers.”

As you probably know, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has had great success with its television commercials in the past.

The question is: what happened this time around? How come its most recent commercials are begin seen as a flop?

For more information on why Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) may have decided to change its strategy, let’s see what Erlichman had to say:

“I think it has to do with where this company is. This is not the Apple that introduced the world to the Macintosh with that famous 1984 Super Bowl commercial. This is also not the same Apple that was very punchy at trying to grab some attention away from Microsoft with its get a Mac campaign. This is a company which you will now see which is focusing more on the brand. Even in this latest spot you can barely see the Apple products, and I think this goes back to the overall story which is Apple has got some great products that do very well in the market but everybody is still waiting for the next big thing from them.”

As you watch television, be sure to pay close attention to any Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) ad that runs across your screen. While doing so, compare this to what you have seen from Cupertino in the past.
