Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) Glass has yet to become available to the public, however, many are beginning to wonder how they will get their hands on the wearable device. Nobody knows for sure how this technology will be received, but it goes without saying that the public is ready to give it a shot.
Before that happens, however, the production of Google Glass could go a long way in helping Taiwan IC firms boost revenue and take their own business to new heights.
According to a recent report by Digitimes, Lee Feng Chien, general manager of Google Taiwan, feels that “Taiwan-based firms should cooperate with academics to seize the business opportunities offered by Google Glass.”
Whether or not this happens is yet to be seen, but the potential is there.
In other words, there are Taiwan firms outside of the manufacturing industry that can get involved with this new device. Obviously, Chien believes that Google Glass is going to be a hit, which will allow other companies to ride the success to the top.
Here is one suggestion from the article:
“Currently there are many small teams of software developers that used to work for Taiwan-based large-size hardware firms. The small teams should attend as many developers’ conferences as possible and showcase their competitiveness, Chien suggested. Most Taiwan-based software engineers graduated from electrical engineering majors and have strong experience in hardware, which is a quality that software engineers in the Silicon Valley lack, added Chien.”
At this point, nobody can deny that the hype surrounding Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) Glass is at an all time high. A growing number of consumers are dying to see what this can do for them, and investors are hoping the new product will help boost the stock price as well.
What the future holds for Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) Glass is up in the air, but Lee Feng Chien feels that this wearable device could be the opportunity many Taiwan companies have been looking for.
