The share price of Vista Energy, S.A.B. de C.V. (NYSE:VIST) surged by 13.02% between October 17 and October 24, 2025, putting it among the Energy Stocks that Gained the Most This Week.

Vista Energy, S.A.B. de C.V. is a leading independent operator, with its main assets in Vaca Muerta, the largest shale oil and shale gas play under development outside North America.

Vista Energy, S.A.B. de C.V. reported a strong performance in its Q3 2025 results announced on October 23, beating estimates in both earnings and revenue. Notably, the company reported a 74% YoY surge in total production, reaching 126,752 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/d), primarily driven by operational success in the Bajada del Palo Oeste and La Amarga Chica fields.

As a result, despite a decrease in oil prices, Vista Energy, S.A.B. de C.V.’s total revenue increased by an impressive 53% compared to the same period last year, while its adjusted EBITDA also grew by 52% YoY. However, the company still recorded a negative free cash flow of $28.8 million due to high capital expenditure.
