Ping An Finance Center is in Shenzhen’s Futian District, and shows us what the new Asian skyscrapers are like: supertall, super-slender and hyper-connected. With its impressive height it stands for an amazingly growing city – from a population of 300,000 to around 10 million, this growth is unprecedented in human history. The city is predicted to be China’s first Special Economic Zone in the 35 years’ time. The building has a very unique facade, as it owns the largest stainless steel facade in the world, actually 1,700 tons of 316L stainless steel were used.
