5. United Arab Emirates

Crude Oil Exports (barrels per day) as of 2015: 2,552,000

The United Arab Emirates is an OPEC member that exported 2,305,000 barrels of crude oil per day in 2021. The country also exported 7.85 billion cubic meters of natural gas in the same year.

4. Canada

Crude Oil Exports (barrels per day) as of 2017: 2,818,000

Canada is a major oil producer that is a net exporter of crude oil. According to the Canadian government data, the country produced 3.8 million barrels per day in 2014, exported 2.9 million barrels per day, sent 1.2 million barrels per day to domestic refineries and imported 0.7 million barrels per day to domestic refineries. In December 2021, Canada exported almost 3.2 million barrels of crude oil per day according to CEIC Data.

Russia exported 4,510,455 barrels of crude oil per day in December 2021. According to the IEA, “In 2021, Russian crude and condensate output reached 10.5 million barrels per day (bpd), making up 14% of the world’s total supply. Russia has oil and gas production facilities throughout the country, but the bulk of its fields are concentrated in western and eastern Siberia. In 2021 Russia exported an estimated 4.7 million bpd of crude, to countries around the world. China is the largest importer of Russian crude (1.6 million bpd) , but Russia exports a significant volume to buyers in Europe (2.4 million bpd).”

Given the Russia Ukraine war, however, Russia’s crude oil exports in 2023 might not reach its 2021 levels given various Western sanctions.
