The CDC estimates that 35.4% of people in Miami are uninsured. The age-adjusted prevalence estimate of current lack of health insurance among adults aged 18-64 years in Miami in 2017 is 35.6%. This is the highest figure in the country among cities with at least 300,000 residents.

If we expand our universe to cover the cities that have a population of at least 200,000 residents, then Hialeah, Florida will be the #1 city in the country with an age-adjusted rate of 43.4%, followed by Laredo, Texas with an age-adjusted rate of 42.4%. Miami would have ranked #3 behind these two smaller cities.
